Ogunbiyi Assumes Office as Permanent Secretary, Pledges Cooperation and Innovation

The newly assigned Permanent Secretary to the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Dr Marcus O. Ogunbiyi FNSE, FNIAE, R.Eng on Friday 11th January, assumed office at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja He takes over from Mahmuda Mamman who has been redeployed to the Federal Ministry of Power.

Speaking during the handover ceremony held at the Conference room of the Federal Ministry of Works, Ogunbiyi expressed his commitment and readiness to work with the staff of the ministry, while soliciting for their support and cooperation.

Ogunbiyi noted that his assignment at the Ministry would be characterised by a collective effort towards supporting the Renewed Hope Vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and working to help the Honourable Minister achieve his plans and objectives for the sector.

Ogunbiyi was deployed from the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation (OHCSF), where he served as the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office (CMO).

“I am a champion of the Performance Management System, which is a pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 25 (FCSSIP 25) and that is one system I intend to promote here at the Ministry to see to its seamless implementation.

“As great disciples of the Head of Service, we must do everything possible to uphold the implementation of FCSSIP 25 in our ministry, because it has come to stay in the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development,” he said.

The coming of Dr Ogunbiyi is another step towards ensuring the full operation of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development as a separate entity from the Works Ministry.
