Governor of Abia State flagged off the rehabilitation of the Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abiriba-Ohafia road, a 67.64km road that which is been upgraded to a 2-lane asphaltic concrete carriageway with streetlights in the built-up areas and drainages on both sides.
The contract will last for twelve (12) months.
The project is divided into three sections and will be handled by reputable construction companies.This effort on part of government to fulfil of its social contract with Ndị Abia.
By improving these vital roads, it will open up new vistas of economic opportunities and markets for farmers and traders.
The Government with this project is also reducing the travel time and cost for commuters and travellers.
This will also bring urban and rural communities closer and the state local economy will thrive with increased connectivity.
