SUSPECTED CULTISTS PLANNING TO DISRUPT STUDENT UNION ELECTION APPREHENDED BY THE POLICE

The patrol team of Igbeba Divisional of the state command on a crime prevention patrol ahead of Tai Solarin University of Education Student Union election, scheduled to hold on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd February.

Sent a team of Police men to provide security in collaboration with the school internal security, received intelligence reports that suspected cultists had planned to disrupt the student union election holding within the school premises, based on this intelligence reports the DPO detailed a team of Police officer to mount surveillance within the school premises.

This lead to the arrest of the following students,

  1. Adekoya Boluwatife Temilade, male, a 200 level student of the Political Science Department ,
  2. Adio Oluwafemi Ifeoluwapo, male, a 300 level student of Technical Education,
  3. Agboluaje Okikiola Segun, a non-student.

The Police also conducted a thorough search on these culprits, with the following incriminating items were found in their possession.
One locally cut to size pistol gun loaded with one live cartridge, was found on Adekoya Boluwatife,

local concoctions suspected to be criminal charms was found on Adio Oluwafemi. With these exhibits discovered on them.

The Police further question them to know the source of this weapons but where unable to give satisfactory answers, from their confessional statement they claim to be members of the Alora cult confraternity.

Investigations by the SCID is still ongoing, while the police has promised to ensure a hitch free election void of violence thereby ensuring protection of lives and properties .
