Governor of Abia State host former President Olusegun Obasanjo

Governor of Abia State had the privilege of welcoming former President Olusegun Obasanjo to our Abia state. He said the former President insights and contributions to discussions were invaluable, particularly his support for infrastructural drive and governance reforms.

The Governor said their conversation, reflected on the strides his administration has made in Abia, especially in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of not just the state but the entire South East. With 10 roads completed and 31 more underway, his administration is not just building paths—we are paving the way to a brighter future for all Abians.

The former President’s commendation of his administration decision to end the pension law for past governors and deputies is a testament to his commitment to responsible leadership as Governor of the state. The move is a significant step towards reducing the cost of governance and channelling resources where they are needed most.

The Governor said he is grateful for Chief Obasanjo’s blunt and direct approach, which has always been a beacon of truth. His encouragement and acknowledgement of his administration efforts to bring an end to the ‘rascality’ of past policies will serve as a catalyst for other states to follow suit and set Nigeria on the wheel of progress.
