As traditional rulers and community leaders collaborate with the police to make headway for peaceful coexistence
The CP of Ogun State advocate for young people to make legitimate income, to encourage this the CP visited sagamu to mop up dangerous arms from the possession of Youths with dangerous weapons.
The Commissioner of Police also stated that some Youths are influenced into social negative vices out of peer pressure, intimidation and fear of being killed.
He encouraged Youths in Sagamu Ogun State to embrace the Amnesty initiative and surrender
operational weapons in their possession,to ensure the program is a success more stakeholders have been included as an initiative to encourage community policing as a source of intelligence gathering and reaching out to the youths more effectively.
With the assistance of traditional ruler of Sagamu, the Akarigbo of REMO land youths have been encouraged to embrace the amnesty program and surrender all weapons in their possession as the command will not be rigid about the window of amnesty.
The CP also sounded note of warning to any cult member who refuse to embrace this opportunity in the eventuality of been caught they will be made to face the due process of the law.
The CP also assured that identities of repentant youths will not be made public to guide against stigmatisation.
On a final note the CP commended the traditional rulers for encouraging and enforcing the amnesty program in their community and surrounding ones .
