The Governor of Rivers State yesterday hosted the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Refinery Turnaround Maintenance led by the Chairman, Sen. Ifeanyi Uba.
The Governor said it was gratifying to know that, by the Committee’s report, the turnaround maintenance is almost at 90% completion, and as such, giving hope of commencement of operations soon.
The refinery’s commencement of production means a lot to us in Rivers State because, inclusive of the availability of products, it will boost foreign exchange earnings, improve our economy and also increase the state’s internally generated revenue for more development.
On his part the Governor said they are working assiduously to support the smooth operation of the refinery by ensuring the urgent completion of the Woji-Aleto-Alesa-Refinery link road which is also at an advanced stage.
