Worker’s Day 2024: Our Records On Labour Matters Confirmed Our Genuine Love For Osun Workers*

Governor Ademola Adeleke celebrated the 2024 worker’s day event ceremony with the workers in Osun state at the Osogbo City Sport Stadium.

It was a great moment for his administration to celebrate the dedication and support of the hardworking Labour force to the development of our dear state.

The Governor said as a party and now as a government, he has always recognised the importance of the state workforce as the engine room to actualize his administration’s 5 points agenda, thereby placing it as the first item in his campaign manifesto. He is proud to say that we have kept faith with his campaign promises, plans and agenda for the workforce of Osun State.

In his address to fellow comrades, he highlighted some of the promises to the state workforce which has been fulfilled and implemented which include; cash backing of 2023 promotion for all categories of civil servants at all levels, implementation of gradual defrayment of unpaid deductions from workers’ salaries by the previous administrations, systematic payment of half salaries owed workers and retirees by past administrations etc.

As a support to the state workforce, his administration has paid over Two Billion Naira for palliative wage awards for public servants and retirees across the state from December 2023 till date.

To eradicate the wicked, obnoxious policy of the past administrations on the use of Coordinating Directors to serve as Accounting Officers of MDAs and Ministries of the state government, the Governor appointed substantial Permanent secretaries to oversee the administration and operation of the state Ministries and MDAs.

To ensure adequate care of retired personnel, his administration have enrolled all pensioners in the state into the Osun health insurance scheme (OHIS) for free medical consultations and treatments.

As his administration continue to implement it’s policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of tz workforce and the people of the state, he is asking for maximum support of all workers to deliver our developmental agenda for the overall peace and progress of our dear state.

Happy Workers Day 2024!
