LABOUR UNION REJECT NEW MINIMUM WAGE Of 62,000


The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) said the previously proposed ₦60,000 minimum wage was unsustainable.

The federal government has increased the proposed national minimum wage from N60,000 to N62,000, while the organised labour has lowered its demand from N494,000 to N250,000.
On the long run the Tripartite Committee on the minimum wage negotiations after the increase in the minimum wage by N2,000 was rejected saying the federal government’s offer of ₦62,000 is not acceptable and demanded ₦250,000 as the new national minimum wage.
NLC Spokesman Benson Upah said labours true concern is to create a national minimum wage that can stimulation capacity.


In his statement Rev father Ejike Mbaka criticised the minimum wage by saying the allowances given to legislators despite the hardships faced by Nigerians, suggesting that senators, governors, and members of the House of Representatives should also receive the proposed N62,000 national minimum wage.
It is obvious that too much corruption is in the country and they are not ready to make sacrifices to the country for peace and easy lifestyle.
