The Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamatu psc, has placed robust security measures to nip in the bud unforeseen dangers of any kind that may arise to breach security across Ogun State from 16th June 2024 throughout the Eid Kabir Celebrations.
As Muslim faithfuls celebrate SALLAH the Ogun State Police Command has drafted its operation order for the yearly celebration with safety strategies to ameliorate security concerns and safeguard maximum protection across the state by ensuring that Ogun state residents as well as visitors have a hitch-free celebration during and after the sallah.
The police command has drafted Policemen to critical flashpoint areas and can be visibly seen everywhere performing their lawful duties.
Members of the public are been informed that police officers would be conducting stop and search in locations such as Onigarri, Odeda, Long Bridge, Alapako, Sango/Ijoko, State Judiciary road headquarters, Tasued junction, Ogunmakin, Foursquare, Kemta, Odogbolu, Ogbere junction, Ijebu Imushin etc.
These efforts are to ensure the peace of the state, the Command hereby ask for the cooperation of residents, as police presence will be strongly felt in those critical areas.
It is a very significant celebration and the Command has noted that there will be influx of visitors, on ingress and egress accessing the Gateway State, we imploy your resilience and patience , as thorough checks would be made only for security purposes deliberately where reasonable suspicions arises.
The under-listed highways will be patrolled 24/7 by a joint collaboration of other sister agencies in the State, Lagos Ibadan expressway, Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode – Benin highway, Kara long bridge, will remain on surveillance by the Divisional Police Officers in their area of jurisdiction, supervised by their Area Commanders.
However, people accessing point of sale locations, eatery, lounges , restaurants, hotels are hereby adviced to be alert circumspect, and clinch their focus on their valuables in order not to fall victim of carelessness and note the modus operandi and cautiously preempt their environment.
Conventional policemen and Mobile Policemen will be apparent at praying grounds and strategically placed to curb attacks and ward off criminals.
