The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, led a delegation of state governors on a condolence visit to Vice President Kashim Shettima in Abuja this evening.
The visit follows the recent passing of the Vice President’s mother-in-law, Hajiya Maryam Albishir.
The delegation, which included former Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased. They also prayed that the Almighty God to grant the bereaved Vice President’s family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In his response, Vice President Shettima expressed heartfelt gratitude to the governors for their show of empathy and support during this difficult time.
He took the opportunity to commend the unity displayed between the state governors and the Federal Government.
Emphasising the importance of continued co-operation, VP Shettima called for unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He stressed that such support was necessary for the achievement of the President’s set goals and objectives for the nation.
