Command CPs are at Liberty to Adopt Strategies for Peace, Orderliness
The Force PPRO ACP OLUMUYIWA ADEJOBI, said it has come to the attention of the Force Headquarters that a recent directive issued by the Commissioner of Police in charge of Ekiti State has been erroneously attributed to the Inspector General of Police by a news platform and this has been reproduced by other platforms. The alleged directive in question centres on the removal of damaged and unused tyres from vulcanizers’ stores to prevent protesters from using them to set fires and damage property during the upcoming proposed protest.
The NPF categorically states that while this directive was not issued by the IGP, the discretion to implement specific anti-crime strategies lies with the Commissioners of Police in each state. These CPs are empowered to devise and implement strategies tailored to the unique security challenges of their respective areas.
