The Deputy Governor, of Edo State yesterday joined the electrifying crowd at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes, France, to cheer on the Super Falcons as they took on Japan’s Women’s National Team at the Olympics.
Though the outcome wasn’t what we had hoped for, the team’s return to the Olympics after a 16-year hiatus is a triumphant step in the right direction the Deputy Governor said. With time, patience, and dedication, the pieces will fall into place, and victory will be within reach again.
The Deputy Governor watched our girls face off against formidable opponents like Brazil, Spain, and Japan, he was struck by their determination and unrelenting fighting spirit — though not with the desired outcome, it was a joy to behold, and he salutes their courage and patriotism!
With a few tweaks and refinements, the Deputy Governor said he has no doubt that the Super Falcons will spread their wings and soar to new heights.
To the players, he sees bright, beautiful future ahead, filled with promise and potential. Keep shining, dear ones!
