LASTMA BOSS WARNS MOTORISTS AGAINST CAUSING TRAFFIC BUILD-UPS AT FUEL STATIONS ACROSS LAGOS.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has issued a warning to motorists who are queuing for fuel at various filling stations leading to severe traffic congestion for other road users.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, gave this warning today as he deployed additional officers to monitor traffic around fuel stations across the State.

Mr. Bakare-Oki explained that this increased deployment is necessary due to reports of long queues at filling stations caused by motorists who park indiscriminately, blocking roads as they wait to purchase fuel.

He emphasized, “We want our roads to be free-flowing; fuel queues should not become a burden for other road users in Lagos.”

He reiterated that effective traffic management is essential for achieving a seamless multi-modal transportation system in Lagos.

Mr. Bakare-Oki also called for full cooperation from the public to ensure that the ‘T.h.e.m.e.s +’ agenda of the current administration results in positive socio-economic development and enhanced security of lives and property. He further urged the public, particularly motorists, to make use of LASTMA’s newly inaugurated toll-free call center at 080000527862 for complaints, comments, and commendations (C.C.C.).
