The DG NEMA yesterday, had an interactive meeting with the Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Committee of the House of Representatives, where she reiterated the agency’s commitment to relentlessly pursue efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of its core mandates and vision.
In building a culture of disaster responsiveness and national resilience, the DG stressed the need for subnational governments to vitalize their local emergency management institutions so as to complement the efforts of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government.
She also sought the understanding and cooperation of members of the Committee to support the agency towards achieving it target to continue to deepen it effectiveness in life-saving emergency preparedness and response.
