Nema said it is conducting extensive assessment of the flood disaster affecting many communities across Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.

Compounding the situation is the collapse of the main Eppa bridge linking Jaagi community to Mokwa town.

The flood has left most of the access roads submerged, displacing over 6,400 persons, destroying over 15,000 hectares of farmland and affecting 45 schools and 44 primary healthcare centres.

Nema said it is working closely with the state government in providing relief and other necessary support to the impacted communities.
