Governor of Jigawa State inaugurates investigative committee on the tragic fire incident

 

Yesterday, at the council chamber, Government House Dutse, the Governor inaugurated a 25-member investigative committee on the tragic fire incident at Majiya, Taura Local Government. The committee is chaired by DIG Hafizu Inuwa (Rtd). Other members of the committee are:

The Terms of Reference of the committee are as follows:
1. Determine the remote and immediate causes of the fire
2. Assess the damages caused by the incident
3. Ascertain the actual casualties and loss of lives
4. Make recommendations to prevent future occurrences
5. Determine the number of families affected
6. Propose how the government can support affected families
7. Provide any other relevant recommendations

The committee has four weeks to submit its report, and the Governor said he expects a thorough and objective investigation. As is administration is fully committed to supporting the affected families and preventing future tragedies.
