Lagos First Lady Hosts 100 Elderly Citizens on Lagos Blue Line Train Ride

Today, the office of the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, in collaboration with the Orunsii Welcare Foundation, organized a special event entitled “A Day Out with the Elderly.” The event afforded 100 elderly citizens in the state with the opportunity to experience the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line.

Dr. Sanwo-Olu joined the elderly participants on a round-trip train ride from the Marina to Mile 2 train stations. The initiative was designed as a social outing, particularly for older citizens residing in old people’s homes, who are often restricted in their mobility.

Speaking during the ride, Dr. Sanwo-Olu remarked, “They often hear and see the rail systems on television, and I felt it was a good time for them to experience the much-talked-about public rail transport in Lagos.”
