Governor of Plateau State present Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to the Niger Delta Power Holding Company

As part of his administration’s commitment to transforming Plateau State’s power sector and promoting industrialization, the Governor officially presented a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC). This milestone paves the way for the construction of a 132/33KV transmission substation in Shendam, a project that promises to enhance electricity transmission and energize the socio-economic landscape of the Southern and Central Senatorial Districts.

This strategic initiative will connect Lafia in Nasarawa State to Shendam, Plateau State, expanding access to electricity and fostering industrialization and business growth across our zones.

During the presentation of the C of O to NDPHC’s Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Jennifer Adighije, in Abuja, the Governor expressed his optimism about the transformative impact this project will have on our communities. It will addresses persistent power challenges and supports critical infrastructure like the African Development Bank’s Special Agro-Processing Zone, while also attracting private-sector investment to Plateau State.

The Governor also highlighted Plateau State’s renewable energy potential, particularly in wind and solar energy, and shared legislative advancements that empower the state to generate and sell electricity under the recently enacted Electricity Market and Energy Corporation Laws.

The Governor urge NDPHC to prioritize this vital project, which will unlock immense opportunities for the state. Engr. Adighije’s warm reception and assurance of NDPHC’s commitment were truly encouraging. Her acknowledgment of Plateau State’s drive toward industrialization reflects our shared vision for a brighter, more prosperous future.

Together, we are setting the stage for a Plateau State that thrives on innovation, industrial growth, and sustainable energy solutions.
