Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency host special media parley appraisal for 2024
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) yesterday, hosted a special media parley to appraise its performance in public service delivery in 2024 with a view to preparing ground for greater productivity in the new year 2025.
The performance appraisal media event, held at the agency’s headquarters in Alausa, brought together, members of the print and electronic media to appraise the agency’s performance in Year 2024 and outlined its agenda for 2025.
In his address, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, expressed appreciation to the media for their collaboration over the past year, noting that despite few challenges encountered last year, significant progress was made in areas such as public engagement, regulatory enforcement, and sustainability initiatives.
According to him, the agency achieved tremendous success in strengthening regulations on noise pollution, improved industrial wastewater management, and the launch of the Lagos Carbon Registry during the year under review.
While acknowledging that Year 2024 was a busy year, marked by increased activity across various sectors, including hospitality, religious organizations, and industrial operations, he explained that LASEPA responded proactively to the environmental pressures brought about by this influx, particularly in managing pollution and promoting sustainable practices.
As the agency looks to 2025, LASEPA boss revealed that the agency has set ambitious targets aimed at strengthening environmental protection and public awareness.

Concluding his remarks, Dr. Ajayi called on the media to continue their partnership with LASEPA in disseminating vital information to the public. He assured attendees that the agency’s offices remain open to receiving feedback, recommendations, and complaints from the public.
