Enugu State to host the 2026 National Sports Festival, as Governor promise to set new standards

Enugu State Governor signed the Host State Agreement with the Federal Government for the 2026 National Sports Festival, granting Enugu State the full hosting rights for this prestigious event.

At the signing ceremony, the Governor assured the Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, and other stakeholders that Enugu is ready to deliver an unforgettable festival. We are not just hosting; we are setting a new standard.

We are committed to establishing a brand-new Games Village in Awgu, a fully renovated Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium with state-of-the-art facilities, as well as additional world-class sports infrastructure to give our athletes and visitors a lifetime of great memories.

Enugu, a state with over 115 years of rich history, will rise to this occasion and showcase our role as a hub of opportunity, excellence, and hospitality. We are determined to leave a lasting legacy that will boost tourism, investment, and development in our dear state the Governor said.
