AFD Delegation Tours Lagos Transit Interchange Hubs

Key players reviewing the implementation of transport projects funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), led by Country Director Xavier Muron, have applauded the zeal employed in the construction of the transport interchange hubs in Marina and Mile 2 today.

The commendation came as Ms. Anne Chaussavoine takes over as the new team leader for the project from Mr. David Margonsztern.

The key AFD officials joined by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi visited project sites at Marina and Mile to observe the progress of ongoing transport infrastructure being funded by their organisation and the Lagos State government.

Mr. Osiyemi, the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo along with her management team, welcomed the AFD delegation.

The tour provided an opportunity for Ms. Chaussavoine to witness firsthand the advancements in Lagos’ transport infrastructure. She expressed optimism regarding the project’s progress and its potential positive impact on the local population.

These hubs will integrate all modes of transport – road, rail, water, and non-motorized—to create a unified transportation system for Lagos.

Other members of the AFD team present were the Project Manager, Alexander Loret, and Project Officer Zach Clarke.

Representatives from LAMATA included Osa Konyeha, Olasunkanmi Okusaga, Kolawole Ojelabi, and Babatunde Fashola.

The visit underscores the ongoing collaboration between AFD and LAMATA in developing and improving Lagos’ transport infrastructure, promising better connectivity and enhanced mobility for residents.
