Plateau State partners with Israel in agriculture, technology, and medicine

Governor of Plateau State Caleb Mutfwang said he is pleased to announce a strategic partnership between Plateau State and the State of Israel, focusing on agriculture, technology, and medicine—three key sectors that are vital to the state development.

The Governor said Plateau State shares many similarities with Israel in climate and topography, presenting unique opportunities for collaboration. Our priority is to enhance agricultural productivity, tackle storage and preservation challenges, and adopt innovative solutions like Israel’s drip irrigation technology to boost food security, improve farmers’ livelihoods, and drive economic growth. The Governor also said the state will leverage Israel’s expertise in livestock development to improve animal husbandry and dairy farming in the state.

In healthcare, the Governor said his administration is committed to establishing a Faculty of Medicine at Plateau State University, Bokkos and developing the state capacity in medical tourism. With Israeli expertise, we will build world-class medical infrastructure, making Plateau a destination for quality healthcare.

On security, the Governor strongly condemn the abduction of Israeli hostages by Hamas, as it is too paininful to understand the insecurity situation.

The Governor said his administration will continue to seek global partnerships and insights to strengthen security measures in the state and protect the lives and property of the people of Plateau State.

This partnership with Israel is a bold step towards sustainable development and economic transformation in Plateau State. As the Governor pledged to ensuring that the benefits of this collaboration reach every Plateau citizen.
