Former AGF Abubakar Malami Honoured EFCC Invitation for Questioning

Immediate-past Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), was on Thursday quizzed by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja. Sources confirmed that Malami arrived at the EFCC headquarters around 10 a.m. and spent several hours with investigators. While the specific details of the probe remain undisclosed, it is understood to be connected to petitions bordering on his tenure as AGF between 2015 and 2023. The former minister left the premises in the evening without speaking to waiting journalists.

Appeal Court Throws Out Nnamdi Kanu’s Fundamental Rights Suit

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has dismissed the suit filed by detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu against the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Attorney-General of the Federation. Five Common Bank Charges to Be Scrapped from January 2026.

The Central Bank of Nigeria has directed all commercial banks to abolish five routine customer charges effective January 1, 2026.
The affected fees include:
Maintenance fee on savings accounts
SMS alert charges
Card maintenance fee (for naira debit cards)
Charges on transfers to accounts in the same bank
Charges on USSD banking transactions
