The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed counterfeit and expired products valued at ₦20 billion in Ibadan, marking a major step in its ongoing crackdown on items considered harmful to public health. The exercise included a range of seized goods accumulated from recent enforcement operations.
In a separate development, the Federal Government reported that Nigeria continues to lose billions of naira to illegal fishing activities along its coastal waters, raising concerns about economic sabotage and weakened marine regulation.
Meanwhile, the naira recorded a rebound in the foreign exchange market. Despite the improvement, many Nigerians say the currency’s gains have yet to produce meaningful relief in day-to-day living costs.
