NAHCO Aviance Boosts Education Through CSR: Sponsors Primary Schools Debate in Oshodi-Isolo

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance) has further demonstrated its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by sponsoring a debate competition for primary schools in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The company, which has pledged to deliver impactful projects in its host communities, stated that it aims to exceed expectations in CSR initiatives.
During the prize-giving ceremony, Mr. Olumuyiwa Olumekun, Group Managing Director/CEO of NAHCO, represented by Assistant General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr. Tayo Ajakaye, highlighted the company’s longstanding interventions in host communities. These include providing borehole water, donating relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and supporting education infrastructure.
Olumekun congratulated the winners of this year’s edition, Mafoluku Primary School, describing the performances of the three finalists as excellent. He also commended the second-place winner, State Primary School, Oshodi; the third-place winner, Oshodi Model Primary School; and the fourth-place finisher, Larinde Primary School.
The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede Almaroof, who attended the final event in person, praised NAHCO for sponsoring the competition. “This is really very impressive and we must thank NAHCO for this initiative,” he said.
Otunba Almaroof urged the company to continue supporting the event and called on the Local Government Education Authority to organise more such competitions among schools in the area.
Themed “Inspiring Young Voices, Building Tomorrow,” the championship offered primary school students in Oshodi-Isolo an opportunity to develop oratory skills, foster healthy rivalry, build confidence in public speaking, and gain experiences beyond the classroom.
Prizes included ₦500,000 for the winner, ₦300,000 for second place, and ₦200,000 for third place.
NAHCO has maintained a strong track record of supporting host communities through various strategic CSR efforts, emphasising that community development is a core commitment to sustainable growth and empowerment in its operational environments.
