Abeokuta, December 23, 2025 – The Ogun State Police Command has ramped up proactive security measures across the state to guarantee a peaceful Christmas and festive season. This includes the deployment of joint forces, operational assets, and a massive number of personnel, alongside strengthened patrols along major highways and strategic locations to protect lives and property.
As part of these efforts, the Command recently conducted a robust joint show of force in collaboration with the Lagos and Oyo State Police Commands, the military, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other sister security agencies. The operation focused particularly on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, involving patrol vehicles, tactical teams, and intelligence assets to enhance security presence, reassure the public, and deter criminal elements.
Special emphasis is being placed on key routes, including the Sagamu–Ijebu Ode Road, where ongoing coordinated joint operations with sister agencies aim to ensure the safe movement of people, goods, and travelers throughout the Yuletide period, while maintaining law and order statewide.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, has directed the massive deployment of personnel for traffic management and operational duties during and beyond the festive season. The Command is also leveraging sustained collaboration with all security agencies in the state for comprehensive coverage and swift response capabilities.
The public is assured that these enhanced security measures will persist throughout and after the Yuletide. The Command reiterates the ongoing ban on the use of fireworks and bangers in the interest of public safety and calls on residents to celebrate responsibly while fully cooperating with security personnel.
