Sowore Rejects U.S. Military Threat, Says Nigeria Needs Accountability, Not Foreign Intervention

Human rights activist and presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has rejected the recent threat by former U.S. President Donald Trump (@POTUS) to launch military action in Nigeria over alleged genocide against Christians, warning that such intervention would be disastrous for the country.

In a statement shared on his X handle, Sowore said while Trump’s remarks may sound appealing to some, especially those angered by religious violence, history has shown that U.S. military interventions only leave nations more unstable than before.

> “Whether you are Christian, Muslim, animist, or non-religious, no one should celebrate such rhetoric,” Sowore said. “The United States and its allies have a long record of military interventions that failed to bring peace — from Afghanistan to Iraq, Libya, and Syria. They will not bring salvation to Nigeria through bombs or boots on the ground.”

Sowore emphasized that Nigeria’s salvation will not come from foreign powers but from legitimate and accountable leadership that protects every citizen and ends corruption and violence.

> “@realDonaldTrump does not care about Nigerians — not Christians, Muslims, or anyone else,” he added. “Our deliverance must come from within, through real leadership, not the Tinubus of this world, and a genuine national renewal.”

He concluded by reaffirming his long-standing call for #RevolutionNow, insisting that the solution lies in rebuilding Nigeria’s political and moral foundation rather than depending on external intervention.
