Today’s (December 15, 2025) drive time news in Lagos highlights a broken-down truck near Nitel on Old Abeokuta Road and ongoing construction causing slow movement on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.


Current Traffic Incidents
Old Abeokuta Road/Nitel: A loaded 40ft containerized truck has broken down due to a gear problem under the bridge inward Nitel. Traffic management officials are on site, but the situation is ongoing with minimal impact currently reported.

Charity/Oshodi: A loaded containerized truck is immobile at Charity inbound Oshodi Oke due to a fault. Evacuation efforts are being made by traffic officials.

Lagos-Badagry Expressway: Slow movement is reported from the Agbara Customs Checkpoint to Jida due to ongoing road construction. A contraflow system is in effect from Jida through Agbara Estate Gate and Morogbo to Ajibade, which is moving well.
Ongoing Disruptions & Advisories

Lekki-Epe Expressway: Major repairs are scheduled from November 2025 to July 2026, confining traffic to one lane in each direction. Motorists are advised to plan for potential disruptions.

Mile 2: A 15-month traffic diversion is in place from November 2024 to February 2026 to facilitate the construction of a new Transport Interchange Terminal.

Ikorodu Road: Yesterday (December 14, 2025), a fatal accident occurred between Anthony and Obanikoro, resulting in two fatalities and multiple injuries. Authorities urge all motorists to drive responsibly and avoid excessive speed.
