AbdulRazaq Receives 23 Rescued Kidnap Victims, Vows Criminals Have No Hiding Place in Kwara

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Tuesday, reaffirmed his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on crime as he received 23 kidnap victims rescued by the Nigerian Army after weeks in captivity

The victims, who were freed through a coordinated military operation, were formally handed over to the governor at the headquarters of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Sobi Barracks, Ilorin The rescue mission, officials said, followed sustained pressure on the kidnappers by troops and intelligence operatives across forests within the state’s border communities.

Addressing the victims during the handover ceremony, Governor AbdulRazaq commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other security agencies for their unwavering commitment to securing lives and property.

> “We thank God that all of you have been rescued safely following the gallant efforts of our security forces,” the governor said. “Let me make it clear: kidnappers and other criminal elements have no place in Kwara State. Our government will continue to support security agencies to ensure our communities remain safe.”



The governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu for his leadership and to the military for the success of the operation

He further assured the rescued victims that the state government would provide them with medical attention, psychological support, and reintegration assistance to help them recover from their traumatic experience.

Governor AbdulRazaq also reiterated his administration’s ongoing collaboration with security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering and forest patrols, adding that security remains a top priority under his leadership.

Senior government officials, military commanders, and family members of the rescued victims attended the event, which many described as a testament to the effectiveness of security coordination in the state.
